FAQ

HOW DOES IT WORK?

WHAT WILL THE FIRST SESSION BE LIKE?

The Acuscope uses bio-feedback to locate and treat pathological areas. The Myopulse stimulates the tissue in that area to encourage cellular regeneration.

The electro Acuscope-Myopulse system works in conjunction to achieve the greatest benefit out of each session.

For more detailed information please look at our 'How Does it Work?' page which can be found on the website's header.

The first session will include a visual and physical examination. The electro Acuscope will then be used to locate problem areas.

The Acuscope is able to differentiate between new and chronic injuries; it will then adjust its own current accordingly. The problem areas will be marked on the body using an animal safe marker. The electro Myopulse will then be used on those problem areas.

After the initial assessment and treatment, a tailored treatment plan will be created to ensure your pet gets back on top form as quickly as possible.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?

  • The number of treatments needed will depend on the severity and type of condition. Results will usually begin to show after the fourth treatment but not always.

  • Some experience immediate temporary pain relief after the first session. This is a cumulative therapy meaning that after each session the benefits will be felt sooner with longer lasting effects until it is no longer needed. Occasionally permanent relief is found after one session.

  • Often positive results will occur several hours after the first or second session.

Normally, nothing is felt. However, depending on the instruments settings and the clients' condition, very rarely a prickly sensation may initially be felt, prior to final adjustment of the therapy system.

ARE THERE ANY PRECAUTIONS I SHOULD TAKE?

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

  • Side effects are rare and usually, only occur between the first 1-3 treatments.

  • There are no long-term side effects.

  • Short term side effects may include temporary nausea, headaches, discomfort, and increased pain.

  • Electrical stimulation therapies cannot be used on wounds that have been treated with iodine colloidal silver, and similar. The negatively charged iodine molecules might be forced into the cells, interacting with them as toxins. However, these can be washed with Castille soap prior to the therapy session.

  • It is not used on clients with pacemakers or who are pregnant.

  • It is also not recommended to receive Acuscope-Myopulse treatment on the same day of a surgical procedure because of its effect on blood viscosity (The day before surgery is fine).
